This was my 3rd year at this event and wont be my last! Its always a fun time when water street is blocked off! Thank you to everyone who stopped, watched, ask questions, took pictures, and did a little dancing!!! This event brings out old, young, and every age in between connecting the community.

Whats going on with your skates!?
The pic skate gets alot of people asking questions!! The pic skate uses a traditional skaters boot with a special inline frame allowing the beauty of skating to be performed on concrete, wood, asphalt, or any kind of smoother surface. Adding in years of skating and dance classes The Skating Ballerina was created.
I own The "Professional 704 pic skate which is designed to provide the support and response necessary for the most demanding moves.
Do you still actively Figure Skate?
OFCOURSE! I cross train between Inline skating, figure skating and dance. Each element helps compliment the other. Its very important to me to train and give an equal amount of my time to each., although my pic skates get a little more attention!
Does Pic skating feel the same as Figure skating?
The two are very different! Figure skates on ice have such sharp movements, compared to pic skates which doesn't have as sharp movement. How I perform moves in both are similar but different!!
How did you come up with "The Skating Ballerina"?
It all started when my best friend Becky would always introduce me as " Her motorcycle riding skating ballerina" It just kinda stuck and the rest is history! I love being able to mix the two elements together.

The Midnight Minxes is a fantastical burlesque group from all over the Midwest! Comprised with multifaceted stage performers with eclectic talents from all shapes, sizes and backgrounds. Our inspiration for our acts stem from our love of nerdy pop culture, such as: anime and comics to video games and tv shows. Each performer has a unique flavor of expression, whether it be cutesy and comedic or sultry and elegant, Midnight Minxes is certain to captivate with our surprising tricks and magical flair.
Although The Skating Ballerina has never performed a burlesque routine, my minxes have been a huge support all around keeping The Skating Ballerina in the incredible shows produced. Each member brings such individuality and passion into this troupe which I'm so happy to be apart of!

Do you play an instrument?
I do not! I have tried but I could never get down reading music. I WISH!
Where do you get your costumes?
Alot of my costumes are DIY. I go to the local thrifts and find very reasonably prices dresses, and so on then based on the event/ performance a costume is born! This helps cut cost and I get to bring my artistic side out!
